“Paired receptors in host-pathogen interactions, from viruses to malaria parasites”

Prof Arase analyzes how pathogens (e.g. CMV and P. falciparum) have acquired the ability to evade the immune system and how host immune systems have acquired resistance to various pathogens. In particular, he has been elucidating fundamental mechanisms of mediated through various immune regulatory receptors incl MHC and MHC-like molecules.
