Handling emergencies and security issues at CMP

Emergencies and security at CSS

Emergency

  1. First, call 112 (Alarmcentralen) in case of serious personal injury, fire, burglary etc. Stay near the phone used to place the call, so the ambulance, fire brigade, police can get in touch with you as required. OBS: The gate at Bartholinsgade 2 is locked at night, whereas the gate in Gammeltoftegade (opposite no. 20) is always open.
  2. Second, call the main switchboard at CSS (dial 9 from a CSS telephone or 35 32 26 26 from any other phone) and tell them about the 112 emergency call placed.
  3. Third, alert the Head of Laboratory (3533 0100) or call 2875 7675 (Emergency backup number).

Evacuation

If you discover an emergency that requires immediate evacuation of the building (e.g., in the case of fire), in addition to the above do this:

Locate the nearest "Evacuation Leader" yellow fluorescent vest (for maps and descriptions of locations, click here), and put it on. You are now the Evacuation Leader, and should do the following:

  1. Give the orange fluorescent vest to a nearby person to appoint her/him as Assembly Point Leader. Ask her/him to go to the designated Assembly Point.
  2. Alert everybody in the building(s) to go the the Assembly Point immediately.
  3. Search the buildings for people and make sure that all windows and doors are closed.
  4. DO NOT TAKE RISKS WITH FIRE AND SMOKE!
  5. DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE RESCUE OPERATION OF THE FIRE BRIGADE / POLICE!
  6. Go to the Assembly Point and report to the Assembly Point Leader (orange vest)

Assembly Point Leader

  1. Once appointed by the Evacuation Leader (see above), put on the orange "Assembly Point Leader" vest.
  2. Go directly to the Assembly Point.
  3. DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE RESCUE OPERATION OF THE FIRE BRIGADE / POLICE!
  4. Get status reports from arriving Evacuation Leader(s) in yellow vest(s). If people leave the scene, make notes that they are safely out of the building(s).
  5. Report to to their Incident Commander, when the Police and Fire Brigade arrive.
  6. Keep the assembled evacuees informed.

Assembly Point

The Assembly Point for Buildings 22 and 23 is in the parking lot East of the main entrance to Bartholinsgade (i.e., NOT the parking lot immediately outside buildings 22 and 23 (see map below) or check the interactive map of the CSS campus here.

Heart failure

The nearest defibrillator ("hjertestarter") to CMP @ CSS is located at Øster Farimagsgade 5A. Take the stairs to the right to the first floor, go through the glass door and find the defibrillator (a red box) approximately 10 m down the corridor.

Vandalism, theft, flooding, power failures, and other issues that require immediate attention

Call the Head of Laboratory (during working hours) or Emergency Contact (outside working hours). It is also a good idea to alert the CSS technical service at TekniskService@csc.ku.dk

Security issues

Call CSS Security at 35 32 40 44 in case of potential or real security issues (suspicious persons, threats etc.). You may also alert the CSS Inspector at 2875 4960. Further information (in Danish only) can be found here
